I don’t know why things aren’t simple. I think it was set up the way it was because we have no close neighbors and the road is also out of range. Encryption key and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router. I suggest either a Netgear or Belkin 54g thet will come with drivers and if you know your WEP key for your wireless enabled router the rest is easy just search for available networks find you SSID and input the WEP code.
